Shopify is a commerce platform with AI assistance and automation; AirPunk organizes a consumer-brand launch around an AI companion. Shopify is a strong choice when catalog, orders and an established commerce setup are central. AirPunk is worth evaluating when coordinating the first research, store and ads is the main obstacle. The difference is the workflow and the depth you need, not whether one product has AI.

| Capability | AirPunk | Shopify |
|---|---|---|
| Primary workflow | From brand brief to coordinated launch tasks. | Commerce administration, AI assistance and integrations. |
| Catalog and orders | Generated storefront, order lookup and shipment updates through chat. | Dedicated catalog, inventory and order management. |
| Automation | Brand-context tasks and campaign actions. | Sidekick plus event-based Shopify Flow workflows. |
| Marketing | Research, creative production and Meta campaign workflow. | Native marketing tools and connected channels/apps. |
| Best first evaluation | Launch one focused offer end to end. | Run a representative order and fulfillment workflow. |
Shopify groups storefront, checkout, catalog and commerce administration. The important consequence is that a merchant can build processes around records such as products, customers and orders. If you already have suppliers, many variants, a fulfillment partner and repeat customers, those processes may be more valuable than having the homepage generated quickly.

AirPunk connects the work around a consumer brand: a market scan informs positioning, product imagery and the storefront; ad creation uses that same brand context, and Meta campaign actions include pausing, resuming and changing a budget. The benefit is continuity between tasks. It does not prove that a suggested audience wants your product, that every creative is accurate or that the resulting campaign will be profitable.
Consider a founder with one hot-sauce idea and no launch assets. Their first problem is deciding what to say, what to show and how to test an offer. Contrast that with a merchant already shipping 200 orders a week: reducing picking errors and reconciling returns may matter more. Both need a store, but they should not use the same buying criteria.
A useful storefront has accurate products, readable pages and a working payment path. Operational depth appears in edge cases: the last unit sells twice, a buyer changes the address, one item ships separately, or a refund affects stock. Write down the cases your business actually has. Then ask for a demonstration using your catalog rather than judging a generic theme preview.
AirPunk’s generated commerce path should be assessed on its supported products and checkout behavior. We do not claim feature parity with Shopify’s retail, inventory or fulfillment ecosystem. For a simple first offer, coordinating fewer decisions can be an advantage. For a complex existing store, missing one required workflow can outweigh any time saved on content generation.
AirPunk’s companion includes actions to list recent orders with product, customer, amount, status and tracking, and to mark an identified order as shipped with an optional carrier and tracking number. The shipment action triggers a customer email. These order actions are defined without a credit charge. That gives a small brand a conversational way to inspect sales and record a shipment without treating every order update as a new creative mission.
Recording a shipment does not pack the box, buy a shipping label or prove delivery. You still need a person or fulfillment partner to perform the physical work. AirPunk’s checkout path also depends on the configured commerce connection; a generated page alone is not a completed payment setup. Before sending traffic, place a test order and check the amount, confirmation and order record. Do not infer that every account includes a ready-to-use Shopify connection or automatic migration of an existing catalog.
Shopify should be evaluated as the operating system for the store: the merchant’s catalog, orders and delivery workflows remain central. For an established retailer, test partial fulfillment, stock changes and returns with the actual apps and partners used. For a first single-product brand, a simpler order workflow may be enough. The decision is the operational complexity you need today and expect next, rather than which interface has fewer screens.
Sidekick uses store context, can work on multistep tasks in the background and presents changes for review. It can also help create Flow automations. It is inaccurate to describe Shopify as a dashboard where the founder has to do everything alone. The relevant question is which work you want to delegate and how you want to review it.
Flow uses triggers, conditions and actions. Think of it as a repeatable rule: when a relevant event happens, apply the chosen logic. A research-and-launch assistant instead helps work through an open-ended brief. These patterns can coexist. A well-defined routine is appropriate for a recurring task; exploring a new product angle requires judgment about evidence and tradeoffs.
Shopify has marketing tools and integrations; it is not a platform without acquisition capabilities. AirPunk’s proposition is to connect the brand research, generated ad assets and Meta actions in the same workflow. Compare the route a piece of information takes: can a product objection discovered in research become an ad angle and a corrected product page without repeatedly rebuilding the brief?

For either route, define a conversion before launching: a purchase, a qualified lead or a booked call. Check that the event fires only when the action really happens. A tool that produces polished ads but cannot connect spend to valid outcomes leaves you guessing. Equally, accurate reporting cannot rescue an offer buyers do not want. Diagnose the funnel in order: delivery, click, product understanding, checkout, repeat purchase.
AirPunk’s public web plans are Starter at €19.99/month with 10 credits, Builder at €49.99 with 20, and Operator at €99.99 with 50. Starter covers site edits and strategic chat; AI ad creation and Meta campaigns require Builder or Operator. A subscription covers one brand. Monthly credits do not roll over. Media spend, goods and fulfillment are separate from the subscription. More credits give more capacity, not a guaranteed number of profitable campaigns.
Shopify pricing varies by country, billing commitment and plan. Its public page separates subscription tiers and payment rates; apps and services can add further cost. Use the quote for your market and actual payment provider. Comparing an annual-billing headline with a monthly subscription, or excluding paid apps from only one side, produces a misleading result.

Make two budgets: launching and operating. Launching includes setup, photography, copy, initial stock and testing. Operating includes software, payment fees, fulfillment, support, returns and acquisition. Add the time someone will spend maintaining integrations. Avoid credit-count comparisons across products: the useful unit is a completed business task at an acceptable quality level.
Not necessarily. A store with healthy conversion, reliable operations and established search traffic is an asset. Replacing it to solve one content-production problem can introduce more work than it removes. First identify the bottleneck. If it is creative volume, improve that workflow. If it is understanding reports, test the available assistant. Migration becomes relevant when the underlying operating model is the constraint.
Before a move, list URLs and redirects, products and variants, customer consent, order records, fulfillment connections and tracking events. Run an end-to-end order on the replacement, including a refund. We do not advertise an automatic Shopify-to-AirPunk migration covering all those objects. Keep the old system available until the new customer journey and operational handoffs are verified.
Choose the depth of Shopify when running commerce is already your daily business and its operational ecosystem matches your requirements. Evaluate AirPunk when you want a guided way to turn a focused consumer idea into coordinated launch work. If your business requires advanced inventory or retail features, verify them before choosing AirPunk. If your challenge is getting started, test whether Shopify’s current AI tools already remove enough friction before assuming you need a different platform.
Yes. Sidekick and Flow are important parts of a fair comparison. Evaluate their actual fit for your tasks.
This comparison concerns AirPunk as a separate product. It does not promise a plug-in installation or automatic migration of an existing Shopify store.
